Marianne Thieme, former leader of the Party for the Animals, is the new director of the party’s scientific bureau. She joined the Nicolaas G. Pierson Foundation this month.
She wrote on Twitter that she is very excited about her new position. “Making even more beautiful, high-profile documentaries, organizing symposia, presenting the latest scientific insights that can contribute to a more pleasant, animal-friendly and sustainable society.”
Thieme was co-founder of the Party for the Animals and the party leader for thirteen years as party leader in the House of Representatives. In 2019 she unexpectedly resigned from her position. Esther Ouwehand took over.
