Former ‘La Nouvelle Star’ Contestant Reveals Love Affair with Christophe Willem: Inspiring the Song ‘Jacques Said’

In a recent interview on the show “Chez Jordan” on C8, singer Bruno Moneroe made a surprising revelation about his past. He disclosed that he had a love affair with fellow singer Christophe Willem back in 2006, during their time on the popular talent show “La Nouvelle Star” on M6. This relationship apparently served as inspiration for Moneroe’s song “Jacques said.”

The memories of their time together came flooding back for Moneroe during the 20th-anniversary celebration of “La Nouvelle Star” on M6 last February. The show brought back many of the artists who had gained fame through the program, including Amel Bent, Julien Doré, Camélia Jordana, Myriam Abel, Miss Dominique, and Christophe Willem. It was during this event that Moneroe decided to open up about his love story with Willem.

Moneroe shared, “It was the 20th anniversary of ‘La Nouvelle Star,’ so I was in prime time on M6. It was a nice way to close the loop, let’s say. And it took me back to my first love. And I saw a press article in Gala which said that indeed, I had gone out with Christophe Willem, who had revealed this love story. So me, 20 years later, I think I won’t harm him by saying that we did indeed have a love affair. It is someone that I really liked.”

The singer went on to explain that their relationship began during their time on “La Nouvelle Star.” They were paired together and shared a room throughout the adventure. Moneroe described Willem as someone he loved deeply, but ultimately, he was the one who ended the relationship. This disappointment in love would later inspire Moneroe’s song “Jacques à dit” on his first album.

Moneroe revealed, “Every day he told me he loved me. (…) I left him before the final. Then he released his first album. And in this one, there was a song called ‘Jacques said,’ which refers to our love story. It was also Christophe Willem’s first experience with a boy.”

When asked if he was concerned about Willem’s reaction to his revelation, Moneroe replied, “I don’t care. I was just at the 20th anniversary of La Nouvelle Star, and I stayed in my dressing room so as not to see him. We have never seen each other since I left him.” As of now, Christophe Willem has not yet responded to Moneroe’s statements.

This unexpected revelation has sparked interest among fans and the media, shedding light on a previously unknown chapter in the lives of these two talented singers.
