Former KPK Investigator Novel Baswedan Speaks Up on the Strike Issue and Urges Dewas to Take Firm Action Against Firli Bahuri

Jakarta

Former senior KPK investigator Novel Baswedan, also spoke up on the issue of a strike among KPK employees, especially civil servants employed (PNYD) from the National Police following the removal of Brigadier General Endar Priantoro from the Director of Investigation of the KPK. Novel also asked the KPK Supervisory Board (Dewas) to be firm with KPK chairman Firli Bahuri.

“I feel that as long as Firli Bahuri is the leader, he will continue to create problems. The solution is that the Dewas must be able to carry out their duties properly. Previously, the Dewas were too permissive about problems with the KPK leadership,” Novel said when contacted, Thursday (6/4/2023).

Novel referring to a number of cases of alleged ethical violations allegedly committed by KPK leaders. The case started with allegations of ticket gratuities and facilities for former KPK leader Lili Pintauli Siregar to the alleged helicopter gratuity case involving Firli.

He considered Dewas not to be firm in resolving the case. Novel sees the permissive attitude of the Dewas as the reason for the cases of alleged repeated ethical violations at the KPK during Firl Bahuri’s leadership.

“If Firli has never been punished for his actions, then don’t be surprised if Firli continues to commit violations, is arrogant and acts arbitrarily,” he explained. Novel.

Firli Asked to Lower the Ego

The same thing was conveyed by former KPK employee Hotman Tambunan. He claimed to have heard of protests from the PNYD Polri at the KPK following Endar’s removal.

“We also heard that friends of civil servants who were hired from the police asked about the removal of Brigadier General Endar. And that’s normal, even at the director level, Firli was treated like that arbitrarily, especially those who, because they are young, are still at the functional level. So it’s normal for them to questioned,” said Hotman.

Hotman asked Firli to lower his ego in the Endar case. He also questioned the urgency of the KPK in removing Endar from the position of Director of Investigation at the KPK.

“Never mind, Firli don’t put his ego too forward and feel like he can do the best manage he likes. Just re-appoint Brigadier General Endar for the position of KPK Director. Let’s see, what is the urgency for Brigadier General Endar to be returned? The one who changed the position of Plt, the temporary position, Brigadier General Endar, did not violate the code of ethics as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees said,” Hotman explained.
