TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Former Head of the Corruption Eradication Commission or KPK Employees Association Yudi Purnomo Harahap supports the Director of Investigation’s report Endar Priantoro against Firli Bahuri to the KPK Council. He considered this to be the right step to face the polemic within the KPK.
“This confirms that reporting to the Dewas is the right step at this time and is a new chapter in the controversy being carried out by the leadership and the Secretary General of the KPK,” Yudi said in a written statement on Tuesday, April 4, 2023.
In addition, Yudi said KPK Council should act proactively in response to the report. Because, according to him, the commotion within the KPK would disrupt the KPK’s work.
“The commotion caused by the controversial policy of Firli Bahuri CS will reduce public trust in the KPK if it continues to drag on,” said the former KPK investigator.
Endar’s report on Firli cs
Previously, KPK Director of Investigation Endar Priantoro made a report to the Council on KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri and KPK Secretary General Cahya Hardianto Harefa. The report is related to Endar’s unilateral dismissal by Firli Bahuri cs.
The dismissal could not be separated from the polemic issue of the handling of the Formula E case at the KPK. Endar along with former Director of Prosecution Fitroh Rohcahyanto and former Deputy for Enforcement Karyoto do not agree that the Formula E case is being investigated because there are not enough pieces of evidence.
Firli cs on the other hand is said to have asked that the case immediately go to the investigation stage. Firli is even said to have asked for the case to go to the investigation stage even though there has been no determination of a suspect. The KPK is also said to have held nine cases due to this problem.
In the aftermath, Firli Bahuri sent a letter to National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo. In his letter, Firli proposed promotions for Endar Priantoro and Karyoto in the police. The Indonesian National Police Chief then promoted Karyoto to Metro Jaya Police Chief while Endar was given an extension of his assignment at the KPK. Meanwhile, Fitroh Rohcahyanto had previously returned to the Attorney General’s Office.
Nevertheless, Firli Bahuri continued to dismiss Endar Priantoro through a letter dated March 31, 2023. This was what Endar then reported to the KPK Dewas.
