FilmWith ‘Black Lotus’, which can be seen in cinemas from today, the most fervent wish of Rico Verhoeven, (34), a former kickboxing champion is fulfilled: a leading role in an action movie. These are his first tentative steps to follow in the footsteps of his childhood idols Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jean-Claude Van Damme. Is he nervous about the response? “Beating down is the easiest thing there is,” says Verhoeven, who is aware that his debut may not be a blockbuster. “When I started kickboxing, I was not immediately world champion in the first match.”
