Former Juventus president Andrea Agnelli resigned from his post last year – after prosecutors investigated deliberate false accounting in the Italian big club.
Agnelli was initially banned for two years for bookkeeping offences, and now the Italian FA has announced that the former Juve boss has been banned for a further 16 months, for a total of around three-and-a-half years. Furthermore, he is also forced to pay the equivalent of SEK 700,000 in fines. At the same time, he can appeal the decision.
Juventus were also, as a club, punished with a ten-point deduction last season, and last week the Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport also stated that the Turin club will agree to a settlement with Uefa, which means that the club will be excluded from next season’s Europe Conference League games. Uefa has previously also investigated the Italian big club.
