The former prime minister of Italy had been in intensive care at Milan’s San Raffaele Hospital since April 5. He had a lung infection caused by a rare form of chronic leukemia, also known as blood cancer.
Last Thursday, doctors already announced that the condition of the former prime minister had improved.
Berlusconi has been struggling with health problems for years. He has been hospitalized several times in recent years, including after an infection with the corona virus.

The politician was Prime Minister of Italy three times between 1994 and 2011. He currently sits in the Italian Senate on behalf of his Forza Italia party. That party is also part of the current government of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
