Politicians must make decisions and make reforms, while looking for financial security of the budget. This 10% to increase the salaries of the Ministry of Internal Affairs employees for the remaining four months should not be a problem. It is necessary to approach other sectors of the budget sphere responsibly. There are unfunded sectors in the social structures of the state, in the sphere of education, culture. This was commented by former interior minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov in the studio of Denyat ON AIR.
He congratulated all employees in the Ministry of Internal Affairs system on their professional holiday.
According to him, it is more important what the 3-year forecast for the budget will be, because then the steps for the Eurozone are outlined. “With the budget that is being adopted now, it will not be possible to make reforms. The reserves will be with the investment policies. They will not be finished within four months”, the former interior minister is of the opinion.
Before Bulgaria ON AIR Tsvetanov also commented on the possible visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Bulgaria. He pointed out that Bulgaria and Hungary are the only countries where Zelensky has not addressed the parliament.
“This means that from a good news that could have been for our country – we have already done everything possible to thwart it. It is worrying that this will show the huge division of the nation and the misunderstanding of the aggressive behavior of the Russian Federation, of the regime Putin’s approach to Ukraine. Bulgaria has an important role to play in its NATO membership. We must be consistent and support Ukraine,” he said.
According to him, there could have been another option for addressing, as in the Austrian parliament.
“Today there is no real political debate. There is only populism. We need to move towards concreteness and substance. Otherwise the public remains uninformed. With Russia currently under sanctions imposed by the EU, this means that they will continue even after the end of the hostilities. This means that we will have difficulties in implementing the ideas for the Belene NPP. There was no investor who could implement this deal,” Tsvetanov explained.
The former interior minister also commented on the established Commission on Immunities. Borisov announced that he will surrender his immunity, today he made a statement, but by the end of the working day, the administration of the parliament was not entered. It was an unnecessary political action,” said the guest.
We still do not have a clear political will for reforms and legislative activity, Tsvetanov also believes. “There is no majority that can carry out the procedure of electing a new SJC. We are talking about constitutional reform, but no bill has yet been submitted that can be discussed,” he emphasized.
