Boyko Borisov’s messages that young people should make the decisions in GERB are not real. Borisov does not understand organizational work, nor is he aware of how the structures work or what the party’s activities are. This is what former interior minister and leader of “Republicans for Bulgaria” Tsvetan Tsvetanov said in “Face to Face” on bTV.
“We saw what happened in the elections – GERB came first, but lost Sofia, lost Varna, Shumen, Lovech, and other regional cities. Anton Hekimyan was Borisov’s sole decision. As a party leader, he was never on the agenda,” he explained, quoted by novini.bg.
On the subject of Schengen, the former second in party GERB stated: “Our country has fulfilled all the requirements since 2011. I think that it should not be accepted to become a member of “air Schengen”. Otherwise, we will remain a non-full member of Schengen”, emphasized Tsvetanov.
“There are requirements that should be covered by the five missions, everything else is additional requirements. All migrants who enter the territory of our country are looking for a way to Western Europe, because that is where their families are,” explained the former interior minister in relation to the condition that we accept a certain number of migrants in order to be accepted in Schengen.
Regarding Borisov’s words that Austria wants to have zero migration, as at the time when he was prime minister, Tsvetanov stated: “Borisov did not know what Schengen was in 2011. Only in 2012, when he realized what the benefits were, he spoke about Schengen. We should focus more on uniting all the parliamentary groups in the Bulgarian parliament in a common declaration on the subject of “Schengen” for Prime Minister Denkov to present in Brussels. That would have a lot of weight,” he believes
Tsvetanov interpreted MP Radomir Cholakov’s statement that Borisov should be prime minister and Peevski vice prime minister as follows: “This was a test of public opinion. Categorically, Delyan Peevski will not become prime minister. It has been very clearly stated in advance what the format of the government is.”
“I did not fight with any political formation while I was the chairman of the PG of GERB. DPS are already formalizing their intentions to participate in informal power. There are moderate politicians one can work with. Everything must be transparent to the public so that people are not disappointed,” said Tsvetan Tsvetanov.
