Parimal Dey, an irreplaceable presence in Indian football in the 1960s, has passed away. The actor was 81 years old and has been under treatment for a long time due to illness. The player who wore the Indian jersey five times scored a goal against South Korea in the Merdeka Cup held in Kuala Lumpur in 1966 when India finished third.

He has scored 84 goals for East Bengal at the club level. In 1966, 1970 and 1973, East Bengal won the Calcutta Football League and the IFA Shield with the star. His goal against Iranian club PAS in the 1970 IFA Shield is still in the record books. The record is for the fastest goal scored as a substitute. The player won the Durand Cup twice and the Rovers Cup three times.

Bengal won the Santosh Trophy in 1962 and 1968 with Parimal Dey. He later played for Mohun Bagan and helped the team win the Rovers Cup.
