Health should be an issue unrelated to political issues, says the former official
Saltillo, Coah.- The policies that have been taken on the federal level in terms of health are a mistake, lamented former federal Secretary of Health José Narro Robles, warning that Mexico needs certified vaccines that have had difficulty obtaining.
The official who advises the municipal government of Saltillo was asked the above, as the critical cold season and therefore infections of respiratory diseases, including covid-19, approached.
“It is very unfortunate, I have to say, that some policies that have been taken at the federal level in matters of health are not accepted and one of these issues has to do with vaccine issues,” he said.
He stressed that health should never be politicized, but rather that it has to be an element of unity for Mexicans regardless of who they benefit from or who they are.
He reiterated that the vaccine is urgently required to protect the population from Covid-19 but the federal government’s difficulties in obtaining them continue.
“Of course it affects the fact that it doesn’t arrive,” said the former health official, highlighting that it is a mistake not to buy vaccines certified by international bodies.
The above, after the government of the Republic has only been supplied with vaccines that have been reported to be of dubious effectiveness, such as the Cuban Abdala or the Russian Sputnick.
It is in this month that population mobility intensifies, festive gatherings and due to the cold, greater contact is maintained in closed places, which generates a greater risk of contagion of viral diseases such as covid-19.
