The charges were brought against Grzegorz Małecki in August last year. They concern crimes under Art. 231 par. 1 and 2 of the Criminal Code, i.e. violation of their powers by a public official or failure to fulfill obligations in order to gain financial or personal benefits, for which he may be imprisoned for up to 10 years. Colonel Grzegorz Małecki in 2015-2016 was the head of the Foreign Intelligence Agency. In addition to him, the charges were heard by 4 other suspects.
– The case is at its final stage. Due to the classified nature of the materials, it is not possible to provide information on the details of the charges, said the prosecutor Łapczyński. He also did not answer the question whether the suspect confessed to the alleged acts.
Małecki: absurd and groundless allegations
In an interview with Onet, Grzegorz Małecki referred to the charges of the Katowice prosecutor’s office.
– They are absurd and groundless. I will prove it in court proceedings – commented the former head of the Foreign Intelligence Agency.
– I am completely calm about the end of this case – he added.
Małecki did not want to disclose further information about the court proceedings.
