Medan, CNN Indonesia —
Former Regent of Samosir, North Sumatra, Rapidin Simbolon appointed as Chairman of the Regional Leadership Council (DPD) I PDI-Struggle North Sumatra replaces Djarot Saiful Hidayat.
The Decree (SK) on the appointment and appointment of Rapidin was read by the Chairman of the PDIP DPP Erico Sotarduga from the PDIP DPP Office, Jalan Diponegoro, Jakarta.
The event, which was broadcast online, was chaired by the Deputy Secretary General of the PDIP DPP Utut Adianto, accompanied by DPP Management Syukur Nababan, Enrico Sotarduga, and Djarot Saiful Hidayat.
The Rakerdasus was held virtually, which was attended by all members of the DPD party, members of the DPR RI, DPRD North Sumatra, Regency/Municipal DPRD from the PDI-P Faction, Party DPC and PAC of the North Sumatra Party who participated virtually.
Secretary of the North Sumatra PDIP DPD, Sutarto said that the change in the chairman of the North Sumatra PDIP DPD was done because Djarot had a new assignment to lead the political education process and party schools nationally.
“This change is because Mas Djarot has received a new assignment to lead the political education process and party schools nationally, because the party currently prioritizes political education as its main program,” said Sutarto.
According to Sutarto, with the withdrawal of Djarot to focus on managing the party schools, a new Chairperson of the North Sumatra PDIP DPD is needed. The DPP assesses that Rapidin has a good ability to bring the PDI-P in North Sumatra to win the 2024 election.
“And the most appropriate is Pak Rapidin Simbolon, who was previously the Deputy Chair of the DPD for Tourism. There is nothing else related to this change, only an assignment to carry out various priority party programs to be implemented immediately,” concluded Sutarto.
