Ingeborg Wieten (58) played the role of Suzanne Balk in ‘Good Times, Bad Times’ from 1990 to 2000. Although her exit was very sudden at the time, she does not refuse to return to the series. In an interview with ‘LINDA.’ she says she would love to get back into Suzanne’s shoes.

“It happened suddenly, so it hit me really hard”

When Ingeborg became pregnant with her second child, she wanted to leave the Meerdijk, but according to the producer that was not the right time for her to leave. “I was pregnant with my second, there was a bit of chaos Good times, bad times due to changes in producers, so I thought: maybe this is a good time to find out,” she said in the interview.

Her representative did not agree so she decided to stay longer, until that person left and people were replaced. They completely agreed with her. “It happened suddenly, so it hit me really hard. In my experience, those conversations were not well thought out, but in retrospect it wasn’t so bad to leave at that time.”

In the end, her character Suzanne leaves for America with her husband a few months later. Since her character is still basically alive in the series, a possible return cannot be ruled out. “At the same time, I was talking about that recently with Babette (van Veen, Linda Dekker in GTST, right.). Actually, I had never thought about it before, because it wasn’t my life anymore. But now that all my children have flown out, I would love it if Suzanne had had a visit.”

Although you play inside GTST felt like a ‘party’ to her, there were also several scenes that she had more difficulty with. “There was a story where Suzanne had a spinal cord injury. When I first read that story, I thought: does this even exist? I found that very uncomfortable to play.”

She developed a ‘kind of vicious shame’ for people who have to live with a spinal cord injury. “It feels very serious now, but I just thought it was an uncomfortable story. “
