Former Governor David Paterson attacked in Manhattan

Former New York Governor David Paterson and his stepfather were attacked Friday night in the Upper East Side area.

According to the police, this happened around nine pm on Second Avenue.

Paterson’s spokesman issued a statement saying that the former governor and his stepfather were taking a walk around the block when they were confronted by at least five people.

The attackers are known to have had previous interactions with Paterson’s stepson.

Both were able to fight off their attackers.

They were later taken to Cornell Hospital as a precaution.

The officer in uniform is looking for the people who appear in several pictures that the authorities have published related to what happened. (For more pictures of the people the police are looking for, see VO news).

So far, no one has been arrested and the investigation is ongoing.

Paterson spokesman Sean Darcy issued a statement saying:

“Governor Peterson and his stepson, Anthony, were sent home early this morning. The Governor’s only request is that people stop trying to use an unfortunate act of violence for their personal or political gain. Governor Paterson’s primary concern today is Kodai Senga and the New York Mets, but we will provide additional updates as needed.”
