Former Goldman Sachs Veterans Launch Alternative Investment Firm Focused on Private Lending

Former Goldman Sachs veterans Mike Koester and Tom Connolly have founded 5C Investment Partners, an alternative investment firm focused on private lending, they announced Thursday.

Connolly was with Goldman Sachsans for 25 years, where he led the personal loans division of Merchant Banking. Koester, who retired from the Wall Street giant earlier this year, was a partner and co-president of alternative investments in the firm’s wealth management unit.

The two executives led and developed leaders for key business areas at Goldman Sachs, Alison Mass, Goldman’s chair of investment banking, said in a statement. “Our employees take on managerial roles in all industries,” said Mass. The two executives would become important customers of the bank. (Reports by Lananh Nguyen and Saeed Azhar; Editing by Josie Kao)
