TEL AVIV – Noa Argamani, an Israeli woman who was freed from a Hamas takeover in Gaza in June, insists that her injuries were caused by an Israeli airstrike, not a Hamas attack.

Speaking to diplomats from G7 countries in Tokyo on Wednesday, Argamani detailed his ordeal after being taken prisoner by Palestinian armed groups during the October 7 attack.

However, two days later, he released a statement on Instagram, saying that some of his comments were misrepresented and taken out of context.

Contrary to some Israeli media reports, Argamani clarified that he was not beaten or had his hair shaved by Palestinian fighters.

“I cannot ignore what happened here over the past 24 hours, taking my words out of context,” he wrote, referring to Israeli media coverage of his speech in Tokyo.

“(members of Hamas) did not beat me while I was held captive, and they did not cut my hair; I was injured by a falling wall caused by an (Israeli) Air Force pilot,” he explained.

“As a victim on October 7, I refuse to be victimized again by the media,” he said.

Argamani, 26, was one of four Israeli prisoners rescued during Israeli attacks on Nuseirat and Deir al-Balah refugee camps in Gaza in June, which resulted in the deaths of 236 Palestinians, mostly women and children.

In his testimony Thursday, Argamani said it was a “miracle” to be alive.

“It’s a miracle because I survived on October 7, and I survived this bombing and I also survived the rescue,” he said.
