Inter Miami midfielder Blaise Matuidi has announced his retirement from football. He said it himself on Twitter.
Matuidi made his professional debut for Troyes in 2004 and played for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) from 2011 to 2017 via Saint-Étienne. After sustaining Ligue 1 dominance four times, he made a full move to Juventus in the summer of 2017 and won three consecutive Serie A titles from his first year to the 2019-20 season.
Subsequently, in the summer of 2020, he moved permanently to Inter Miami of MLS. However, in the 2022 season there was no possibility to participate in the official match and he decided to retire.
Matuidi also played 84 A international matches for the French national team. In 2018 he was part of the World Cup winning team in Russia.
Mahuidi said goodbye via Twitter:
“Dear Calcio, I love you so much. Calcio, you have given me so much, but the time has come to say that I have had enough. I am a child. I have fulfilled the dream I had as a child, the dream I imagined for the future. Not it’s just something that stays in my heart, but I’m proudly turning a new page today. Thank you!”
