Former French footballer Jean-Pierre Adams died on Monday at the age of 73. He spent the last 39 years of his life in a coma during which he was cared for by his wife, Bernadette. The television network informed about it ESPN on his Twitter.
A native of Senegal, who moved to France at the age of ten, he was in a coma for almost four decades. At his age, it accounted for more than half of his life. His unfortunate medical condition was due to unsuccessful routine knee surgery.
Prior to the operation required by his medical condition in 1982, he was given too much anesthetic, which caused brain damage instead of suppressing the perception of pain.
