Former Formula 1 driver Philippe Streiff has died at the age of 67. The general manager of the F1 championship, Stefan Domenicali, announced the death of the French driver in a statement. The news was also confirmed by several agencies.

Streiff drove in F1 from 1984 to 1989, when he was paralyzed and wheelchair-bound after a testing crash in Brazil. He raced for Renault, Tyrrell, AGS and Ligier, in whose colors he finished third in the 1985 Australian Grand Prix and scored his only career podium finish.
