Spain’s former football president Luis Rubiales is banned from all football for three years. That is what Fifa writes in a press release.
Fifa has concluded that Rubiales breached Article 13 of the disciplinary regulations when he kissed Jennifer Hermoso on the mouth after the Spanish national team had won the World Cup final in August.
Rubiales has denied that the kiss was given without consent.
Rubiales was heavily criticized for the kiss. The Spanish Football Federation issued an apology to the football world, stating that Rubiales had damaged the reputation of the sport.

On 10 September, Rubiales resigned as football president in Spain. By then he was already suspended by Fifa for 90 days.
The episode caused chaos and uproar in Spanish football.
National team coach Jorge Vida also had to leave his job, just 16 days after leading the Spanish women’s soccer team to the World Cup title. The general secretary of the football association also lost his job in the wake of the incident.
Rubiales can request a reason for the exclusion within ten days. In that case, it will be published by Fifa. The exclusion can be appealed to Fifa’s appeal committee.
