Former F1 driver Johnny Herbert and Paul di Resta removed from Sky Sports Formula 1 coverage without explanation.

Former F1 driver Johnny Herbert says he doesn’t understand why Sky Sports made the ‘disappointing’ decision to remove him from the F1 channel. Former Formula 1 driver-turned-critic Johnny Herbert has been a part of Sky Sports’ live coverage of all races since 2012, when it took over the rights to live broadcasts of all races from the BBC in the UK. Declared not to participate.

Paul di Resta, who has been a presenter for the team since the 2016 season, has also been removed from the broadcast. Herbert said he didn’t step down and was told in December that he would not be appearing on the channel without any explanation. “I didn’t decide to quit. I thought everything was going well!” Herbert told Mirror Sport. “I got a call in December and was told things were changing,” he said. “It wasn’t explained why or what would change. It was just mentioning social media. No.” Herbert is “graduating” from his job as a presenter for F1 telecasts, recently starting an F1 podcast and appearing as a speaker at the recent Saudi Grand Prix. “Sky does subscriber checks and it’s rated out of 10, but I’ve always known it to be pretty popular on that side. Unfortunately, I’ve gotten over it. Moving on.”
