Former Egyptian National Team Player Ahmed Eid Believes Rui Vitoria’s Team Can Win African Cup of Nations Title

Ahmed Eid, the former Egyptian national team player, believes that coach Rui Vitoria’s team can win the African Cup of Nations title.

Ahmed Eid, the former Egyptian national team player, believes that coach Rui Vitoria’s team can win the African Cup of Nations title.

The Egyptian national team is preparing to participate in the African Cup of Nations from January 13 to February 11, 2024.

Abdul Malik said in an interview with: FilGoal.com“The Egyptian national team is undergoing a state of development under the leadership of Rui Vitoria compared to previous periods. The performance is witnessing a state of improvement as well as good results.”

He added, “The Egyptian national team is capable of winning the African Cup. I believe that Hegazy will have a major role with the national team after his participation in the Club World Cup. Likewise, Mahmoud Hamdy Al-Wansh and Osama Galal, the Pyramids player, deserve to be present and get a chance.”

He continued, “I see that Nabil Emad is starting to regain his level. He is basically an international player, especially after Tariq Hamed’s retirement, which is a great loss for the national team. Therefore, I think that Nabil Emad deserves to be there.”

Regarding his work as a coach, he revealed, “I work without a coaching license because the Confederation of African Football has suspended coaching licenses from 2016 until now. I retired from football in 2019, but there is a license called the fast track that is granted to international players, and we are waiting to obtain it.”

He added, “I had opportunities to live outside Egypt in order to obtain training courses, but my commitment to working with the teams prevented me. I am working during the coming period to obtain the Asian course.”

Regarding his coaching career, he explained, “I started my career with Bani Obaid and was able to qualify for Premier League B. We achieved the desired goal in one of the most difficult groups with a group of fan clubs such as Belghas, Zarqa, Damietta, and Ghazl Damietta, and I left at the end of the season.”

He added, “I moved in the following season to coach Al-Nojoom Club, and despite the not-so-good start, we succeeded in qualifying for the professional league at the expense of the Police Union, Al-Merreikh, and Najma Sinai. We then succeeded in defeating Al-Ismaily in the Egypt Cup, and I preferred to leave after that because of the delayed dues that I had not received yet.” .

He continued, “I received many offers, but I chose to coach La Vienna because I was convinced of the project and the availability of capabilities. We started well, but we faced bad luck and I decided to leave.”
