Former Egyptian Minister of Health Dies Due to Medical Error During Heart Surgery

Yesterday evening, Dr. Ahmed Emad El-Din Rady, the former Egyptian Minister of Health, died after a medical error he suffered during a heart surgery.

A source revealed to Al-Arabiya.net that the 68-year-old former minister suffered a sudden heart attack, as a result of which he was admitted to a private hospital in Nasr City, east of Cairo, for urgent surgery, adding that the minister, during the surgery, suffered a medical error that led to his death instantly. .

For his part, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, the current Minister of Health, mourned the former minister, stressing that he passed away after a scientific and research career full of achievements at the local and global levels.

It is noteworthy that Dr. Ahmed Emad El-Din assumed the Ministry of Health in September of 2015 and continued until June of 2018, after which Dr. Hala Zayed succeeded him.

Imad El-Din was born on June 8, 1955, the same month in which he died. He obtained a Bachelor of Medicine in 1985, a Master of Orthopedics in 1987, and a PhD in 1989.

Dr. Ahmed Emad El-Din is considered among the most famous orthopedic surgeons in Egypt, and he held a number of positions, including the vice dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, and was appointed dean of the faculty by election.
