Former Dynamo Kyiv Player Artem Milevsky Hospitalized: Update on His Condition

Former midfielder of the Ukrainian national team and Dynamo Kyiv Alexander Aliyev September 25 told on Instagram that his ex-teammate Artem Milevsky was hospitalized.

“Hello everyone. I want to clarify the situation regarding Milevsky’s theme. Thank God, we managed to put him in the hospital. He has been there for five days already. The condition, of course, is very serious. But nothing, the doctors are fighting,” Aliyev said in a video message published in Stories. This video was saved and published in the Telegram publication “Glavkom”.

Aliyev thanked Dynamo and the club’s president, Igor Surkis, who, according to the ex-footballer, covered all expenses.

“I will let you know what the situation will be. I will go to him [Милевскому] I go and visit him in the hospital all the time,” Aliyev added.

On September 21, Aliyev reported on Instagram that it was not immediately possible to persuade Milevsky to go to the hospital, he was quoted by Tribuna.com.

“Yesterday he was supposed to go to the hospital. We have already agreed with the doctor about everything so that he can go there. But the man still doesn’t pick up the phone. He doesn’t want to. So please don’t write to me so that I can help Kent. I’m ready for over the course of five or six months he should do this. But the man doesn’t hear me. He personally doesn’t want this,” Aliyev explained.

Ex-footballer of the Ukrainian national team, Dnipro and Shakhtar Evgeniy Seleznev in an interview with the publication Sport-Expresspublished on September 21, confirmed that Milevsky did not answer the phone after friends agreed to take him to the hospital.

“I can’t come to him and take him in handcuffs. Here we need his desire. Artem has gone a little off the road. Many people say that he is a grown guy and should solve his problems himself, but friends are made not when it’s good, but when difficult moments. It makes no difference to me whether he has money or not,” Seleznev said, declaring that he would help his friend.

Tribuna.com notes, citing the impressions of Ukrainian sports journalists, that Milevsky has recently looked bad, “swollen, swollen.” The ex-footballer, as he told his interlocutors, began to feel depressed due to the end of his career and unsuccessful search for himself in a new life; the situation was aggravated by the war and the inability to see his relatives who live in Minsk.

Three months ago, sports journalist Sergei Bolotnikov stated that Milevsky had problems with money, writes Tribuna.com.

The publication recalls the scandal between the ex-football player and the Ukrainian model, singer and volunteer Dasha Astafieva, who in May 2022 was one of the first to publicly hint that he had problems with alcohol.

“He stayed in Kyiv, but there was a confrontation with him when he came and demanded soup [в кафе, где я волонтерила]. One of our volunteers said: “You know, you have money for booze, but you can’t pay for soup? I couldn’t resist, I went out and said: “I think you can find time and go make soup for yourself and your friends, with with which you rested at night.” And he stopped coming,” she said.

Context:

Milevsky played for Dynamo Kiev from 2002 to 2013, scoring 57 goals. After that he performed in Turkey, Croatia, Romania, Russia, and Hungary. Since 2017 he has played for Dynamo Brest.

In December 2020, Milevsky returned to Ukraine and signed a contract with the Ukrainian Premier League club Minai. He played 10 matches for the Transcarpathian club, in which he was never able to score goals.

Milevsky played 50 matches for the Ukrainian national team, scoring eight goals.

In December 2020, in an interview with the Espreso TV channel, Milevsky, who often got into scandals due to problems with alcohol, said that it was “wild” for him not to have a beer with the boys after the game.

On September 23, 2021, Milevsky announced his retirement from professional football. In the video filmed at the Dynamo stadium, the football player “wrote a letter to his 15-year-old self,” in which he advised not to do what caused him to get into scandals. In particular, do not come to a meeting with coach Oleg Blokhin wearing only a robe.
