NBC News reports that three former dancers who worked with Lizzo on the tour Big Grrrl Tour, filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleging the singer sexually harassed them and created a hostile work environment. According to the complainants, Lizzo even incited one of them to touch a naked dancer during a drunken evening in Amsterdam.

The dancers also claim that Lizzo, who advocates for body positivity and diversity, allegedly criticized a dancer’s weight gain, berated her and fired her after she taped a meeting for health reasons.

The law firm representing the plaintiffs provided details of the complaint to NBC News. The complaint also mentions charges against the captain of Lizzo’s dance team, Shirlene Quigley.
The allegations against Quigley include negative talk about premarital sex, lewd sexual fantasies, simulated oral sex and public discussion of one of the complainants’ virginity, raising concerns about behavior within the dance team.
It has not been confirmed whether Lizzo was aware of the allegations regarding Quigley, but the plaintiffs believe that the singer of About Damn Time was aware of the complaints about her, according to their lawyer, Ron Zambrano.
“The staggering nature of the way Lizzo and her management team have treated their performers, seems to go against everything Lizzo stands for publicly, while privately she places weight restraints on her dancers and belittles them in a way that is not only illegal, but absolutely demoralizing,” Zambrano said in a statement.
To date, Lizzo’s camp has yet to react to the case.
