Mexico City. The Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Crimes of Violence against Women, Vulnerable Groups and Human Trafficking (FEVIMTRA) obtained a nine-year sentence against a former official of the National Commission for the Protection and Defense of Users of Financial Services (Condusef) for having committed sexual acts against one of his coworkers.
According to information provided by the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), in December 2018, FEVIMTRA initiated the investigation file and carried out the process in its various consequences and proved the responsibility of the person who identified himself as Diego “G”.
The former public servant was charged and sentenced for his responsibility in the crimes of aggravated sexual abuse and sexual harassment committed in the exercise of his duties as a public servant at Condusef.
A Trial Court attached to the Federal Criminal Justice Center in Mexico City, based in the Eastern Prison, sentenced him to nine years in prison, dismissal from his job for five years, suspension of political and civil rights, as well as public reprimand.
In addition, the FGR will have to pay for the damages, the amount of which will be determined during the sanctions enforcement stage.
