Kottayam > Former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy’s mourning continues. The journey will reach Kottayam in the evening. The body will be placed for public viewing at Tirunakkara ground. Kottayam district police chief explained the restrictions imposed in Kottayam following the public viewing. The police informed that people will not be allowed to stay in the ground at Tirunakkara. The police also say that Q will be imposed for public viewing. Currently, the mourning procession has passed Venjaramud. The journey is slow due to the crowd waiting at many places. Traffic control has also been imposed on the MC road as the Yatra is passing through. Traffic arrangements imposed by the police in Kottayam district from 01.00 pm on Wednesday. 1. Large vehicles coming from Natakam side on MC road turn left from cement intersection and park at Parechal bypass, Thiruvathukkal, Kurishupally, Aruthuti junction and turn right at Chalukun junction and go towards medical college. Vehicles going to Kumarakam side should go via Thiruvathukkal and Aruthuti. 2. Small vehicles coming from MC road going east should take right turn from Manipuzha and reach Manorama junction via bypass road, Eirailkadav and go east. Large vehicles should take a turn from Manipuzha Junction and reach Kanjikuzhi via Kaduvakulam and Kollad. 3. Vehicles coming from Nagampadam Bridge reach Chantakawala via Sears Junction, Nagampadam Bus Stand, Railway Station, Logos and proceed to ML Road Kodimata side via Market. 4. Vehicles coming from Kumarakam side will reach Baker Junction and turn right via Sears Junction and proceed towards Bus Stand. 5. Buses bound for Karapuzha, Thiruvathukkal and Illikal from Nagampadam stand reach Baker Junction and proceed to Thiruvathukkal via Aruthuti. 6. K. Large vehicles coming from K road towards Changanassery should go via Kanjikuzhi, Devalokam, Kaduvakulam and private buses should go via Collectorate, Logos, Shastri Road and Kuryan Uthuppu Road to Nagampadam bus stand.
