Bengaluru: Ahead of the elections, the BJP suffered a major setback in Karnataka. Former Chief Minister and senior leader Jagdish Shettar left the party. The announcement was made last night after Union Ministers Prahlad Joshi, Dharmendra Pradhan and Chief Minister Basavaraj Bomme’s persuasive efforts at Hubballi’s house failed. Shettar has announced that he will also resign from the post of MLA. He will send a letter to the Speaker today clarifying this.
