Erland Bakke (43) was 6 May sentenced in Oslo District Court to 30 days unconditional imprisonment.

In addition, he was ordered to pay legal costs, but was acquitted of a claim for compensation of 80,000 kroner in the case.

The former celebrity manager was convicted of violating all three sections he was charged with.

Now he is appealing the verdict, the district court confirms. This is also confirmed by Bakke’s defender, Knut Helge Hurum. He says to VG:

Otherwise, he wants to give a short message: He has appealed after receiving advice from people who know law better than him. In addition, he says that the case has been a great burden and urges peace of mind around him and his family.

VG has asked Bakke to comment on the appeal. He has not done that.

Hill acknowledged no criminal guilt when the case went to Oslo District Court at the end of April.

Bakke was convicted of fabricating an e-mail in connection with a lawsuit against VGTV and TV 2 presenter Mads Hansen (38), as VG mentioned in October last year.

The e-mail was to be from Playboy model Amalie Olufsen, who for a short period collaborated with Bakke. It was to document that the manager had lost a client – and thus money – due to criticism from Hansen on social media.

But Olufsen denies that she has ever written or sent the e-mail.

“The court is convinced that Bakke’s purpose in changing the e-mail from Amalie Olufsen and sending it to her lawyer was to use the document as evidence in the case against Hansen,” the judgment states.

The reason why the email was sent is a longer conflict which involved Bakke, Hansen and comedian and VGTV profile Morten Ramm, who were all present in court on Wednesday. The latter two made several critical statements against Bakke, who responded by suing Hansen.

Bakke explained in court that he changed the e-mail, but that the new content reproduced a conversation he had had with Olufsen, and that he never intended that the forged e-mail should be presented to the court.

“The court does not trust this explanation,” it said in the judgment from the district court.

Even if a case is appealed to the Court of Appeal, this does not mean that the case will necessarily have to be re-examined. This is something the appeals committee in the court decides on, before they possibly frame the case.

Erland Bakke even announced in March that he left as manager. For several years he has represented a number of Norwegian musicians, comedians and athletes.

Mads Hansen, who is mentioned in this case, is associated Max Social, which is a wholly owned profile agency in VGTV AS. VG’s editorial assessments are made independently of this. The editorial staff is free. An overview of bindings for profiles that do assignments for VG is available her.
