Zhao Lanjian, a female chain whistleblower, revealed to The Epoch Times that Wang Zhian once sought funds from the CCP for foreign propaganda. He copied the CCP’s propaganda model completely overseas and poisoned people who jumped over the wall.

Zhao Lanjian, a senior media person who previously lived in mainland China, told The Epoch Times on December 21 that Wang Zhian may have taken money from the CCP. “When I first came to the United States last year, many well-known overseas pro-democracy activists invited me to dinner. One of them mentioned that Wang Zhian returned from Japan in 2021 and went to China to fight for funds for foreign propaganda activities.”
Zhao Lanjian said that Wang Zhian has also repeatedly leaked on the X (formerly Twitter) platform and some programs that he has the potential to be a major external propaganda agent. He also has a pattern of action for major external propaganda and has been seeking investment from the CCP official.
“Get the money from the CCP and then invest in a media that promotes foreign propaganda overseas. Because in the United States and Japan, there are many news organizations that promote foreign propaganda. Whether it is directly invested by (the CCP) or invested by a third party, They still give some financial support, and they are everywhere.”
Zhao Lanjian said that although it was not confirmed whether Wang Zhian had received investment from the CCP, he had actually completely copied the CCP’s propaganda model overseas. He pretended to be an overseas democrat or a third-party news media to help the CCP perform some special tasks overseas.
However, he said that once the nature of those media that serve as the CCP’s external propaganda is revealed, their brand will collapse. There were two well-known examples overseas in the past.

Where do Wang Zhian’s fans come from? What is he selling to the CCP?
Public information shows that Wang Zhian, known as Wang Ju, has served as a reporter and host for the Chinese Communist Party’s CCTV and an investigative reporter for the Beijing News. In June 2019, Wang Zhian was banned from the entire network, but the real reason is unknown. He moved to Japan in 2020 and began operating a self-media channel on YouTube in May 2022. On November 4, 2023, the “Wang Ju’s Case” YouTube channel exceeded 1 million subscribers.
Zhao Lanjian said that Wang Zhian’s fans are mainly people who have escaped from China. One of the reasons why Wang Zhian has so many fans is that many Chinese people are accustomed to the thinking mode instilled in him by the Communist Party. When they circumvent the firewall, they still use this thinking mode and the way of perceiving information. When they see Wang Zhian’s things, they Can’t tell clearly.
“Many of Wang Zhian’s fans are fake. But some of them are the ones who are used to watching CCTV in China. They jumped over the wall and their thinking mode has not changed.”
Zhao Lanjian said that although overseas Chinese fans live in the free world, their thinking patterns are still those given to them by the Communist Party, so they agree with Wang Zhian’s things. He called on everyone to think independently and be wary of specious things like Wang Zhian.
Zhao Lanjian believes that in the information age, the CCP has various spies. Wang Zhian may not be a spy specially trained in the security system, but he may be performing spy work.
“Spies, one thing is that you have to have something to sell out. You have to have the ability to collect intelligence and have something to sell out.”
He reminded that many of the people who broke the news to Wang Zhian may have been targeted by the CCP’s national security and police because they broke the news to Wang Zhian.
One of the evidences of Wang Zhian’s betrayal is the reversal of the incident of the woman in chains.
The “Chain Girl” incident in Feng County, Xuzhou was exposed at the end of January 2022. The woman, officially known as Yang Mouxia, was chained around her neck and locked in a broken house for more than 20 years. She was beaten, had her teeth extracted, and had her tongue cut off, and was forced to give birth to eight children. Hundreds of millions of people in China were shocked by this. Private investigations identified the girl in chains as Li Ying, a 12-year-old girl from Nanchong, Sichuan who was trafficked. However, the Jiangsu authorities issued five investigation announcements full of loopholes, insisting that she was Xiaohuamei from Yunnan. She was sent to a mental hospital in February last year and has not been heard from since.
Zhao Lanjian personally visited Xiao Huamei’s uncle in Yunnan in February last year and recorded a video of Xiao Huamei’s uncle denying that the girl in chains was Xiao Huamei. The video was circulated at home and abroad, directly denying the official “characterization” of the case of the girl in chains. Zhao Lanjian also submitted the video to the Ministry of Public Security, the Supreme People’s Procuratorate and the Jiangsu authorities in the name of a report letter, but received no positive response.
On April 7 this year, Dong Zhimin, who was the buyer and detained the woman in chains, was not charged with “trafficking women” or “rape”, but was sentenced to 9 years in prison for “abuse” and “illegal detention”. Shi Lizhong, Sang Heniu, Tan Aiqing, Huo Yongqu, Huo Fude and others were convicted of trafficking in women and were sentenced to 11 years, 10 years, 13 years, 8 and a half years and 8 years respectively, as well as fines.
Many observers believe that the CCP clearly avoided the serious issues in this case, and Dong Zhimin received a light sentence. However, Wang Zhian complained about Dong Zhimin’s sentence on the show, saying that the sentence was too harsh.
