Former Employee Supports Claims Against Megan Thee Stallion

Introduction

Another former employee has come forward to support the claims made by Emilio Garcia, a previous cameraman for rap star Megan Thee Stallion. Garcia has sued the rapper for withholding wages and creating a hostile work environment, including allegedly forcing him to watch her have sex in a car. The new employee, makeup artist Akil McCoy, has spoken out to corroborate some of Garcia’s allegations.

Firsthand Witnesses

McCoy, who appears to be the likely confidante described in Garcia’s lawsuit, states that he was well aware of the professional dynamics between Garcia and Megan Thee Stallion. According to McCoy, he witnessed acts of selfishness and a lack of integrity from the rapper. McCoy shares via email, “What I witnessed from Megan was acts of selfishness, lack of integrity and accountability when it came to me, Emilio, and others.”

Unsatisfactory Work Conditions

Previously working a state office job, Garcia took a significant risk to pursue his dreams and work for Megan Thee Stallion. However, he claims to have faced numerous challenges and pay discrepancies while working for the rapper. McCoy recounts an instance where Garcia was promised compensation for quitting his previous job, but it never materialized. Additionally, Garcia’s pay for his work on Meek Mill and Future’s Legendary Nights tour with Megan Thee Stallion, from August to October 2019, was allegedly both low and delayed.

Management Deal and Disappointments

In 2018, Megan Thee Stallion gained recognition with her hit single “Big Ole Freak,” which led to her signing a management deal with Roc Nation. However, McCoy claims that following this deal, Garcia was replaced as the photographer, despite already having quit his job. These unfavorable circumstances persisted into 2020, with Megan Thee Stallion reportedly ceasing to use Garcia’s services. However, a favorable turn of events occurred when Garcia was once again commissioned to work for the rapper.

Allegations Against Other Employees

McCoy further alleges that he observed Megan Thee Stallion making disparaging remarks about another employee, stylist Todd White, in 2019. These remarks raised doubts about her character and integrity for McCoy. However, the attorney for Megan Thee Stallion denies McCoy’s claims, emphasizing that they are false.

Garcia’s Pursuit of Justice

Garcia’s attorney, Ronald Zambrano, advocates against the acceptance of illegal or egregious behavior in the workplace. Zambrano argues that employees working for celebrities should not be expected to tolerate such actions. McCoy supports Garcia’s pursuit of justice but remains unaware of the developments that occurred after he started working for Megan Thee Stallion again.

Reaching Out for Statements

The Daily Beast has sought responses from representatives of Megan Thee Stallion, but they declined to provide an on-the-record response. Todd White, the stylist mentioned by McCoy, has not responded to the inquiries.
