Former Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) chief Gerald Bantag and former Deputy Officer Ricardo Zulueta are wanted for two counts of murder, and Philippine National Police chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. has called on them to surrender to authorities. The two are wanted for the separate killings of broadcast journalist Percival “Percy Lapid” Mabasa and Cristito “Jun Villamor” Palaña, an inmate of New Bilibid Prison who served as the middleman in the hiring of hit men. The warrants of arrest were issued on April 12 and 14, and both courts recommended no bail on the murder cases. Bantag and Zulueta have not yet surrendered or sent any surrender feelers.
