Former Bundesliga Football Pro Kevin Pannewitz’s Cage Fight with Martin Fenin Canceled: Indiscipline and Career Setbacks

The cage fight between former Bundesliga football professionals Kevin Pannewitz and Martin Fenin has broken down. “The project was canceled by Oktagon due to various reasons. “I think it’s a shame, it was a lot of fun,” wrote 31-year-old Pannewitz on Instagram.

Octagon MMA was scheduled to host the fight. The agency with which Pannewitz had worked in advance of the fight planned for September also confirmed the cancellation on Tuesday. No further details were disclosed.

Indiscipline cost Pannewitz his football career

The Berlin native, who began his career at FC Hansa Rostock, was once considered a promising young player – but he never achieved a breakthrough. At VfL Wolfsburg he was about to make the jump to the Bundesliga under Felix Magath in 2012. However, indiscipline and weight problems prevented him from asserting himself. He then moved to Goslarer SC.

Pannewitz repeatedly made headlines. In 2020 he won 50,000 euros as the winner of the RTL program “Battle of the Reality Stars”. In 2021 he showed himself working for BSR city cleaning and revealed in an Instagram story how much he earned. Pannewitz was also recently active as an amateur footballer for clubs in Berlin.
