Former British star speculates about Novak Djokovic’s future in tennis.

Novak Djokovic is all set to take part in the upcoming US Open, where he holds the title as the reigning champion. Interestingly, he has decided not to play in Cincinnati. Naomi Broady, a former prominent British tennis player, has shared her insights on Novak Djokovic’s future in the sport. After his historic victory at the Olympics, the Serbian athlete is currently taking a break from the tour.
With the retirements of Andy Murray and Roger Federer, Djokovic and Rafael Nadal are now the only active players from the Big Four era. While Nadal’s career appears to be coming to an end, possibly at the Laver Cup, there seems to be no foreseeable conclusion for Djokovic. Nevertheless, Broady has hinted at a possible retirement for the 24-time Grand Slam champion.
In 2024, Djokovic has overcome numerous challenges throughout the season and has failed to secure any ATP Tour titles until August. This is the first time in nearly two decades that he has experienced such a drought. However, his Olympic gold medal win has completed his collection of major titles. After this remarkable achievement, the tennis world is wondering whether Djokovic will continue to dominate the ATP Tour or if he may lose motivation and retire sooner than expected.
Last week, Novak Djokovic emerged victorious in the Olympic singles competition, defeating Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets. This victory has made him the second player alongside Andre Agassi to achieve the Career Super Slam. The Career Super Slam includes winning all four Grand Slam tournaments, the Olympic singles gold medal, the ATP World Tour Finals and the Davis Cup.
Still, one might wonder if there are more milestones for Djokovic to conquer. The answer is possible. Currently, the 37-year-old is tied with Margaret Court for most Grand Slam singles titles. His desire to reach 25 titles and establish himself as the undisputed holder of Grand Slam titles is obvious. In addition, he could potentially surpass a few of Jimmy Connors’ records. Djokovic currently has 99 career singles titles and 1,116 singles wins, while Connors holds the records for most ATP titles (109) and most singles wins (1,274).
In both categories, Djokovic currently ranks third on the list, while Roger Federer takes second place. The Swiss maestro finished his career with 1,251 wins and 103 career ATP titles.
