Former Boston Celtics R.J. Hunter tries his return to the NBA at the hands of Charlotte Hornets. The player has committed to the US team for one season and will have to fight for a spot on their roster in the preseason.
Hunter, a 29-year-old player who was the first round of the draft, played 45 regular season games in the NBA in 4 different seasons, although he only had certain playing opportunities in the 2015-2016 academic year when he donned the Celtics jersey 36 times . He later played for the Bulls, Rockets, and again the Celtics. Since the 2018-2019 campaign he has not played an official match in the league.
Since then he has gone through the G League, the Turkish and Australian leagues, the latter being the one he has been in since 2021 as part of the Sydney Kings.
