A few weeks ago, BMW introduced the new 2 Series, and like most of the brand’s new models recently, the design was not well received by people. Unlike the first generation, which is a favorite of most fans of “Bavarian” machines, the second things are quite different for now.
Former BMW and McLaren designer Frank Stevenson has a similar opinion. In one of his last videos, he explained in detail what exactly is wrong with the sports coupe and did not spare his criticism at all. Stevenson circled all sides of the car, and superlatives were not the leading factor on this tour at all.
However, starting with something good, Stevenson mentions that he is pleasantly surprised by the decision for small “kidneys” and he likes it, unlike the headlights, which have a very strange shape. It also notes the many corners in the front that play no role. He doesn’t like the front so much that he calls it irreparable without starting from scratch.

In the side part, the main element for the conversation is the elongated front, which he defines as an animated one. According to him, it would be suitable, and the car has a huge V12 or V16. The interesting line, shaped like the letter “Z” also does not catch the eye, as well as the back panel, which defines as complex.

The ass is also criticized, and Stevenson’s conclusion is simply “This is not good.” The rear lights share nothing with the headlights in the front, and the designer wonders if the car is not made in the dark. He adds that there are too many lines, angles and shapes.
