Former Benfica striker continues with sharp aim
At 40 years old, Oscar Cardozo shows no sign of wanting to calm down his scoring streak. In 2023 he reached 19 goals in the Paraguayan championship – this is his best record since 2018 – and this Friday he was rewarded for those numbers, when he was called up again for the Paraguayan national team.
The ex-Benfica forward has not been called up since 2021, when he was last called up for the double commitment with Chile and Bolivia. Now, interestingly, their first opportunity to return will be precisely against the Chileans, in a game scheduled for November 17th, before the clash with Colombia, on the 22nd.
