Former Beirut MP Bahaa al-Din Itani passed away.
He was born in Beirut in 1941. He worked in the national and international field since the beginning of his life. He participated in establishing the Ras Beirut Cultural and Social Club in 1963, the Arab Cultural Club, and the Board of Trustees of the Islamic Cultural Center.
He was elected as a representative of Beirut in the 1996 session, on the list of martyr Prime Minister Rafik Hariri. He was a member of the Administration and Justice and Foreign Affairs committees.
He contributed to the approval of many financial laws and loan agreements, including those related to regulating the liberal professions and television broadcasting.
He is married to Mrs. Samar Abdel Halim Shehab and their children are: Muhammad, Ahmed, and Mahmoud.
