Former basketball player Han Ki-bum confessed his difficult family life.
On MBN’s ‘Special World’, which aired on the 20th, Han Ki-bum confessed that he underwent two heart surgeries because of a rare genetic disease called ‘Marfan Syndrome’.
Han Ki-beom said, “My father died after living for about a year after heart surgery. He said that his family members had been tested and that everything was fine when he was young. But one day, his younger brother suddenly had a heart attack and went to heaven.”
“I went to the hospital after receiving the award and they said that I would die 100%. It was a rare genetic disease, Marfan syndrome. At the time of the second surgery, everything was not good, and he was desperate, so he complained about having a child. Her wife gave me courage and encouraged me,” she said, bringing tears to her eyes. Han Ki-bum said, “I was very worried about giving children such a dangerous disease. After the children became adults, they took them to the hospital for a check-up, but they said there was no luck.”
Han Ki-bum also told the story of his two sons who were diagnosed with borderline autism spectrum. Ahn Mi-ae, wife of Ki-beom Han, said, “Because she was infertile, she went to the hospital for a long time. Her husband told me, ‘I don’t have a baby, I just need you,’” she confessed. “After that, she gave birth and went out in a stroller, and she said to herself, ‘I had a day like this too’. She was stunned to hear that. I wondered what would have happened if I hadn’t been born. I was so happy,” she said through tears. She added, “I felt like I had to live well with this person,” she added.
Han Ki-beom said, “One day, my wife told me that my oldest child has a borderline autism spectrum. Seeing her, the eldest child couldn’t sit still and at least walked around her three or four times,” he said. Then, the wife went to the hospital and was examined.”
Although both of their sons were diagnosed with borderline autism spectrum, the couple said they learned the joys of being parents after holding children in their arms. Ahn Mi-ae said, “They say that if you push and push these kids, they will enter that world. He grew up well, but in the middle of it, we went bankrupt, and as this happened, the environment at home changed and the child developed a tic disorder. Life was hard,” she confessed.
Han Ki-beom’s eldest son, Han I-se, said, “At that time, the house was in a bad situation, but my father bought me block toys, and he bought them all when I asked him to buy them, regardless of birthday, Christmas, or Children’s Day.” The two sons are independent, and Han Ki-bum lives alone with his wife.
