Former Auto Châssis International factory in Villeurbanne to become 2-hectare public park

Located in Croix-Luizet, the former factory should eventually accommodate a public park of 2 hectares.

In Croix-Luizet, the former Auto Châssis International (ACI) factory, delimited by the streets Alexis-Perroncel, Yvonne, Edouard-Vaillant and Peru, is the subject of an urban development project initiated by the City, Lyon Metropolis and BNP Paribas Immobilier.

This industrial site is currently one of Villeurbanne’s major heat islands, in an area lacking in green spaces. The future arrival of the T6 tramway is an opportunity to imagine a new green space that meets the needs and uses of the inhabitants. By 2026, the site will host a 2-hectare public park, a future green space located between the city center and the Doua campus which will benefit a large number of Villeurbannaises and Villeurbannais.

To best meet their expectations, the City wishes to involve them from the diagnosis phase. They will be able to share their expectations and their desires for this future place during a workshop which will be held at the Jean-Macé college, 23 rue Edouard-Vaillant in Villeurbanne, on Saturday May 13 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., on Tuesday May 23 May from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. or Wednesday, May 24 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
