Former Assistant Sir Alex Supports Ten Hag to Man United

Jakarta

Erik ten Hag become a strong candidate for permanent manager Manchester United. Steve McClaren called it ready for a big task at a top club.

Manchester United are still searching for a permanent manager for next season. Ralph Rangnick as is known will serve as interim manager until the end of this season and subsequently serve as team consultant.

So far the two strongest candidates for Man United are Erik ten Hag (Ajax) and Mauricio Pochettino (Paris Saint-Germain). It is reported that Manchester United are in talks to find out the cost of compensation to release Ten Hag from his contract.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s former assistant, Steve McClaren, knows how Erik ten Hag worked from their time together at FC Twente. McClaren assesses Ten Hag has the qualities the ‘Red Devils’ need at this time.

Even in terms of attention to detail, he equates to Sir Alex.

“His great strength lies not only in his attention to detail and organization. He has a clear philosophy of how he wants to play, the environment he wants to create,” Steve McClaren told reporters. Daily Telegraph reported Metro.

“The player development program is a key part of Twente. He has done it at Ajax as well, for every player from the academy to the first team. Look at Hakim Ziyech and now Antony, a very good player who will be the next person to leave Ajax.”

“I’ve seen this Ajax team and it’s very good. Erik is very disciplined and people must follow him and apply that work ethic. Tactically, he’s amazing.”

“He worked with Pep at Bayern Munich and absorbed his philosophy as well. They call him ‘Mini Pep’ out there. He is ready. Many top clubs in Germany and England will try to get him.”
