Former Arsenal superstar Mesut Ozil is set to debut in a new role. The media reports that Ozil, who is also a former Real player, is being considered as the sporting director of the Turkish national team. The player is returning to football after six months of retirement from international football.
Turkey’s current head coach Stefan Kuntz and general manager Hamit Altintop have been fired by management. Then Joachim Low is considered for the position of coach of the team and Ozil as sporting director. Turkey lost 4-2 in a friendly match against Japan. Turkey is currently second in the Euro 2024 qualifying group.
