Former Arsenal star begs Gunners to sign Pogba

Former Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna has urged the club to make a move for compatriot Paul Pogba as he believes he would be an ideal fit for Mikel Arteta’s burgeoning side.

The 31-year-old is currently on the books of Juventus and will return to action in March 2025 after receiving a favorable ruling from the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which reviewed his 4-year ban for high testosterone levels in his blood reduced at 18 months.

Pogba ready to leave Juventus

While the news of the footballer’s early return was welcomed by the global sporting community, the reaction from Juventus was lukewarm.

Following the decision, reports from Italy suggested that the Old Lady were considering terminating Pogba’s contract.

In an interview, the French international had a different stance, as he stated that his wish was to stay at the club.

However, it was reported that the club’s director clearly told reporters that the midfielder was surplus to requirements.

Sagna was Paul at Arsenal

Juventus’ position could mean Pogba is expected to find a new club soon, and Sagna, who was teammates of the former Manchester United star in the France team, has tipped him for a move to Arsenal.

The Premier League suits Paul Pogba, I would love to see him join Arsenal. That would be great, he has experience; he loves playing with young players around him, that’s where he is most effective”, Sagna told Paddy Power.

During the 2018 World Cup, that’s where he was most effective, he had friends around him. Arsenal have a young and fresh team, and I see him playing in an Arsenal shirt.

He will receive love from his fans. Now he can start from scratch: he has had time away from football and he will come back with the desire to find a good space and play football again”, he added.
