Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger predicts Erling Haaland will play in the Premier League next season with Manchester United, Man City and Chelsea tied

Arsene Wenger is confident that scoring sensation Erling Haaland will play in the Premier League next season, stating that the best players go where the most money is.

Norwegian superstar Haaland has ignited the Champions League since his debut for Salzburg in 2019, becoming the fastest player to score 20 goals in the competition’s history.

Haaland won his first trophy for Dortmund last season with two goals in the German cup final

He has since brought his machine performances to the German Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund, ensuring his status as one of the most sought-after talents the game has seen in recent years.

Dortmund managed to retain the 21-year-old this summer despite interest from the world’s biggest clubs, but they will have little chance of retaining him next year when a £ 68 million release clause takes effect.

Reports in Spain and Norway suggest that Real Madrid could be Haaland’s preferred destination next summer, while Bayern Munich is said to believe they have as much chance as anyone.

Haaland has been linked to Man City, a club his father Alf-Inge played for, while rivals Manchester United and Chelsea are also interested.

And in the eyes of former Premier League legend Arsene Wenger, English teams have the best hope of landing the striker.

«I think that will happen [a move to England]”Wenger told the German media Bild.

“The economic power of the Premier League is too strong.”

Spanish newspaper Marca reported this week that Madrid believe they can add Haaland to their long-awaited signing of Kylian Mbappé next summer.

A favorable relationship between Madrid and Dortmund, as well as Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola, may put the Spanish giants on pole position, but Wenger believes it will come down to money.

“English football is dominant because it is where the most money is,” said the Arsenal legend.

“The best players always go in the best way to win the most money.”

Haaland has scored 63 goals in 64 games since signing with Dortmund in January 2020, putting him in the top group of soccer’s new superstars.

Wenger, however, still believes that Haaland is right behind World Cup winner Mbappé, but he has all the tools to become one of the best players in the sport.

Wenger says Haaland is the game’s next big scorer AFTER Mbappé

“Haaland is likely to be the next high-profile scorer after Mbappé, he’s a super talent,” he said.

His ambition, his willingness to score goals and the ability to duel [set him apart].

“He’s there and he wants to win, there’s something about him that’s great for a striker.”
