Former Amali Police Chief Died Killed for Helping Children Who Quarreled Due to Overtaking on the Road

SOPPENGKOMPAS.com – The death of a former police chief in the district SoppengSouth Sulawesi, is still being investigated by the police.

The victim died from a stab wound while trying to help his son who was involved in an argument with 4 men who were previously overtaken on the highway, on Friday (11/2/2022).

Kamaruddin (65), a retired police officer with the last rank of Kompol, died in front of his residence on Wednesday (9/2/2022) at 17.00 WITA.

The victim was in his house and witnessed an argument between his son, AY (27) and 4 men who used two motorbikes.

The quarrel between the victim’s child and the 4 suspects began when the victim’s child, AY, was riding a motorcycle and carrying a woman.

On the way, AY overtook four suspects and got involved in a chase to the front of the victim’s house.

“Initially the victim’s child was driving and carrying a woman. While on the road, the victim’s child overtook the four suspects until there was an offense and the suspects then chased the victim’s child to his house and that’s when the victim came out to help his child,” said Soppeng Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head. Iptu Noviarif Kurniawan, on Friday (11/2/2022).

The victim who wanted to help his son later became the target of the suspects.

The victim died from a stab wound to the chest.

Meanwhile, the suspects immediately fled to Bone Regency and are currently still being chased by the police.
