The company Alu Iberica, owner of the aluminum factory in A Coruña -before Alcoa-, backed by those responsible for Parties Y Industrial Risk Group, has reiterated its commitment to maintain the agreements signed with Alcoa. Both companies have committed to improving the situation of the factories with the investments indicated in the agreed plan. This has been explained to the Xunta de Galicia and the Government of the Principality of Asturias, in a Meeting not attended by the A Coruña and Avilés works councils, despite being invited, according to Alu Ibérica.
“This meeting arises after the company was not invited to the official industrial table by the Ministry of Industry,” says Riesgo, now owner of the plants, in a statement.
The company has highlighted its commitment to the future and has even made a tour of the advances, putting as an example the creation of a commercial department, the conversion to gas of the two factories or the purchase of new equipment. They say that in the future they intend to improve the quality of aluminum or advance in the treatment of scrap and recycling. The company hopes to be invited to the industrial table official to continue talking, he says, for the future of the company and the workers.

Employee training begins in Avilés
Alu Ibérica has announced the start of professional training and certification programs for its employees.
