A decade ago, when people began to talk about digital culture in capital letters, Rosa Castells, a journalist and a regular in Formentera, proposed to the Consell to organize a meeting on new technologies, marketing, advertising and social networks when it was already intuited what is now embedded in our lives as consumers of information and market products.
This year, Formentera2.0 celebrates its tenth anniversary, an appointment with digital culture that in this edition, which is held between May 6 and 8, brings together, as Castells points out, “excellence”. It is the first time that experts from the most important digital platforms of the moment have come together and they have done so in Formentera.
It is difficult to match the agendas of directors of Netflix, Meta (Facebook), Twitter, Prisa, TikTok and professionals such as the publicist Toni Segarra, Bruno Sellés, co-founder of Vasava, or the Dircom of Samsung or Tomás Alonso and that everyone agree and attend this meeting on the island.
“Having them all makes it an exceptional edition and an excellent occasion to celebrate the tenth edition,” Rosa Castells summed up.
Participants
Tony Segarra, publicist, considered one of the best creatives of the 20th century, will open the edition. He will be accompanied by María Jesús Espinosa de los Monteros, general director of Prisa Audio; Emilio Pila, director of Twitter Next; Pepa Rojo, creative director of Meta (Facebook); Pablo Skaf, director Partner Marketing Spain & Portugal of Netflix; Ana Gómez, Head of Agencies Partnerships TikToK; Bruno Sellés, co-founder and creative director of Vasava, and Isabel Martínez, creative director @isabelitavirtual.
Slogans such as: ‘Do you like to drive?’, ‘Welcome to the independent republic of your home’, ‘Be water, my friend’ or ‘What do the clouds smell like?’, created by Toni Segarra, will be discussed in Formentera2. 0. They are commercial slogans that not only go down in history, but are also part of popular culture and the collective imagination.
Maria Jesus Espinosa de los Monteros is the general director of Prisa Audio, and she will talk about the podcast, one of the most innovative audios of the moment. She will also analyze the keys to writing with sound in mind and why audio is a format of digital transformation for the media and what the so-called ‘Audition Age’ consists of.
Emilio Pila, director of Twitter Next, will be present to explain the current marketing strategies after learning from the best creative directors and the best planners that the Spanish agencies have given in the last two decades, such as McCann, Saatchi & Saatchi or Proximity . In his case, he defends that the element with the greatest competitive differential value of a global company today is still the brand.

Through various success stories, he will provide his vision on how creativity allows collaborations to make the brand visible.
Ana Gómez He is currently Head of Agencies for Spain and Portugal at TikTok. Elizabeth Martinez is the person behind Isabelita Virtual, a creative director with more than 15 years of experience in advertising agencies such as SCPF, DDB Barcelona and Wunderman NY. Today, more than six hundred thousand people follow her account. She has collaborated with brands and cultural institutions such as Dior, Hermès, Kenzo, Sony, Louis Vuitton Foundation, Vogue Italia, W Magazine and The Moscow Ballet.
