An evening walk on Wednesday did not end well for a man in Tilburg. He parked his car at the canal on Dongenseweg, but forgot to put the handbrake on it. When he returned, his car was floating in the water. Emergency services rushed out en masse.
Just after eight o’clock, emergency services received a report that a car was in the water in Tilburg. The fire brigade, divers and police quickly arrived and saw the car floating in the canal. There was no one inside.
As it turned out: a man had parked his car there on a slipway, but he had probably forgotten to put the handbrake on it. He went for a walk and when he came back, he saw that his car had rolled into the water.
A recovery company, together with the fire brigade, made cables to the car and pulled it out of the water.
