For more than 15 years, ash dieback has caused considerable damage in Central Europe, Germany and also in the district. The false white stem cup, a mushroom, is responsible for this.
The occurrence of the native tree species is falling drastically. The national demonstration project “Frax For Future” was developed to preserve the ash and its specialized species and communities. Gabriele Hennicke spoke to forest scientist and project manager Jrg Grner.
BZ: Which parts of the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district are particularly affected by ash dieback?
